Student, Research and Training Visas

Foreign nationals accepted by a US college or university who also satisfy certain other requirements may be eligible for an F-1 student visa. The International Student Office of such institution generally handles F-1 student visa related matters.

Other US visa categories such as the J-1 visa may be appropriate for students who wish to study at an eligible US institution.

The J-1 Visa category is for participation in various types of exchange programs. These may include students, researchers, medical trainees or interns. The purpose of the J-1 Visa Program is to promote the exchange of people, knowledge, and skills in the fields of education, arts, and sciences. more »
